What our alumni say

Natália
Researcher in Pharmacogenetics
“In science, statistics, working with data, and their visualization are key skills that young researchers often lack. Winter Data School opened doors to the world of data, helped me overcome the fear of learning a programming language, and created a community.

Tomáš
Enterprise Architect, VÚB banka
“One of the best trainings I've attended. Designed for both business and IT. The instructors guided a mixed group through practical exercises. Even non-technical users learned how to use tools like ChatGPT to generate Python code.

Iveta
PhD researcher
“Opened doors to new possibilities. I learned Python, which helps me solve errors in my daily PhD work efficiently. It was also a great networking opportunity.
Hands-on by default
We designed Codebridge workshops to be practical and rigorous - so you don’t just “learn concepts,” you build analytical and coding skills that you can apply immediately.
Expertly crafted resources
The core of our unique value lies in our teaching materials, with extensive time and effort dedicated to their development. Two versions of Python notebooks allow you to either focus on code or concentrate on the explanations.
Supportive teaching
If you get stuck during the workshop, you don’t have to panic, we don’t leave you hanging. While one lecturer teaches, the other ones are available to help you solve any coding bugs and to answer any extra questions you might have.
Hands-on by default
Short explanations, then practice - so you don’t just “learn concepts,” you build analytical and coding skills that you can apply immediately. You’ll work on real tasks: cleaning data, visualising, testing hypotheses, building models and interpreting results.
Pre-course prep
Before the course, you’ll get a structured “to do list” that is designed to offer you the best preparation for the course.
Support after the course
Your education with us doesn’t end with the bootcamp, we continue to support you even after the course, in the form of individual consultations and specialised workshops.
Guided and Modern Learning
No question is left unanswered. We're committed to interactive lecturing and discussion. When we teach the most essential concepts in data manipulation, statistics or machine learning, we make sure everyone fully understands these topics before progressing.
Meet our lecturers and mentors
Experts from top universities, with experience across research and real-world delivery.

Imrich Berta
A graduate of Applied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, with experience in machine learning models for disease prediction and clinical data analysis. He currently works as a consultant for government institutions and start-ups. He actively mentors analysts and organises programming and data workshops for students. Imrich enjoys helping people who do not consider themselves "math types" understand and apply mathematical and statistical principles in practice.

Laura Johanesová
Laura is a bioinformatician and biomedical scientist currently at the University of Vienna. The skills she has in R, Linux and Python are crucial for her research in regeneration.

Ján Dudek
Magna cum laude economics and econometrics graduate from Rice and Oxford. Improved the risk-equalization model at the Ministry of Health and implemented ML fraud detection algorithms in Slovak healthcare. Currently a senior data scientist specializing in the health insurance industry.

Oliver Hollý
Oliver earned a Master in Cybernetics from the STU, specialising in innovative AI research in cybersecurity. As a member of ESET's core AI team, he's advanced behavioral malware analysis using state-of-the-art deep learning, with global applications and reach. His expertise spans from embedded systems, satellite imagery, and the full ML lifecycle.

Martin Veselý
Oxford-trained biochemist specializing in user-centered innovation and digital solutions. Leads cross-disciplinary programs, mentors startups across various industries, and teaches design thinking in organizations to drive real-world impact across sectors.

Soňa Hudecová
Final-year medical student at Charles University with a strong interest in oncology. She gained international clinical and research experience at Harvard Medical School, Sorbonne Medicine, UCL, DKFZ Heidelberg, Seoul National University. She is also engaged in cancer prevention and explores how data science and critical appraisal of clinical studies can be integrated into clinical oncology through Codebridge College and collaborations with health-tech startups.
